Penbrook Borough is seeking applicants for the Zoning Hearing Board.
The Zoning Hearing Board consists of three appointed members who are responsible for conducting public hearings and making decisions on zoning matters in accordance with Pennsylvania law. Their role includes reviewing appeals of zoning officer decisions, evaluating requests for variances when strict zoning rules create hardship, and building a factual record for any legal challenges. They also ensure proper public notice is given, and that decisions consider the impact on the community and compliance with the zoning ordinance.
The Zoning Hearing Board meets at 7 PM on the fourth Thursday of the month, as needed.

The first yard waste collection of the year will be tomorrow, April 23, 2026. Yard waste will be collected on the 4th Thursday of the month from April through October, and the final yard waste collection date for 2026 is scheduled for the 3rd Thursday in November (November 20, 2026).

Penbrook Police / Fire News
We at citizens fire company are deeply saddened to announce the passing of life member, past assistant fire chief, past fire police captain Robert “Bob” Treaster. Treaster spent over 50 years in the fire service holding multiple positions in the department. Please keep the Treaster family in your thoughts and prayers. If anyone has pictures of Treaster, please post them in the comments.

We are pleased to announce that in the past 10 days, we have been awarded (3) grants totaling over $150,000. These grants will be used for the engine, tools/equipment and more station renovations. We would like like to take this time thank the dauphin county commissioners and Penbrook Borough council for their support with the gaming grant.
