‼️WORKING FIRE‼️

This morning around 0215 hrs, Harrisburg City units were dispatched to the 1600 block of Paxton St. for a house fire. City units arrived with 4 well off houses and quickly struck the 1st alarm and then the 2nd alarm. Engine 30 with 5 arrived picking up another hydrant and sending manpower forward. Units were met with heavy fire conditions and hit the evacuation tones. Engine 30 crew assisted with extensive overhaul and chasing hot spots. The engine remained on scene for over 2 hours before going available. Special thanks to engine 39 (Grantville) for covering our first due.

About Us

Citizens Fire Company #1 of Penbrook was organized on March 29, 1906. This organization came about from a group of public-spirited citizens, who at this time recognized the vital need for fire protection for Penbrook. The first equipment of the fire company were two hand drawn chemical wagons. These were housed in a barn as there were no fire houses available for apparatus. The fire company currently operates a 2004 American LaFrance engine and a 1996 Freightliner/Darley Air Unit.

Penbrook Borough is roughly a 1.5 square mile area that borders Harrisburg City and Susquehanna Township. Penbrook Fire Company averages between 200-400 calls a year with around 30 of them being confirmed working fires. Penbrook Fire relies on its dedicated volunteers to answer calls for help, attend fundraisers, station maintenance, and other public events. We are a 100% Volunteer organization that always accepts new applications for membership. The fire company also runs mutual aid to Harrisburg City, Susquehanna Township, Paxtang Borough, Swatara Township, Lower Paxton Township, South Hanover Township and East Hanover Township.
