He owns and operates S & S Enterprises and Stottlemyer Apartments in the Borough.  In addition to being the mayor of the Borough since 1992, Mr. Stottlemyer has served the borough in many different capacities.  He has held seats on the Civil Service Commission and the Zoning Hearing Board.  He has been an active member  and fire fighter of the Penbrook Fire Co. for over 35 years and in addition was its president for seven years.  He has been instrumental in starting the Penbrook Crime Watch, Bike Patrol, Fire Police, Park and Walk, and the first National Night Out.  The Mayor is a graduate of the Mayor’s Training Course held by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  Mr. Stottlemyer works very closely with State Senator Piccola and Representative McNaughton, the Dauphin County Commissioners, Mayor Reed of Harrisburg, U. S. Representative Tim Holden, and many other state, local, and national leaders. The Mayor, being in charge of the Borough Police, can be seen at many of the emergencies and police incidents, and can often be seen in and around the Borough  and at many of the special events held by organizations in the Borough.  Mayor Stottlemyer is married to a charming wife, Arlene, and has two sons, Richard II and Mark, both of Harrisburg, and four grandchildren.  His vision  for the Borough is to see it brought up to something we can all be proud of and to increase revenues by adding more businesses on our main street which is used by travelers heading in to the Capitol.
